Cylinder Support System (CSS) Service - Honda / Acura
CONTACT US BEFORE PURCHASE IF YOU WANT TO ADD ADDITIONAL SERVICES: DECK, ORING, HONE, ASSEMBLY, JET WASH
The Cylinder Support System process is NOT to be confused with the industry known “block guard.” Why? Because it does not rely on the loose tolerance and taper(draft angle) of the factory casting. The Cylinder Support System process involves precisely machining the water passage, to accept our precision machined billet 6061 support rings. Our precision fit gives equal support pressure around the cylinders from the top of the support ring to the bottom of the support ring. Even the most finely filed/sanded block guards cannot compete with the precision of our high quality CNC milling machines.
NOTE: The CSS process will distort the top of the cylinders, so finish machine work is strongly recommended after the CSS process is complete!!!
Significant grime, oil and grease residue has adverse effects on our CNC machinery, particularly on the coolant and filtration systems. If a block arrives with caked on grime, oil and grease, then it MUST get Pre-Washed prior to machining for CSS. An additional fee of $75 will be added to your invoice if a Pre-Wash is required. **Note that a Pre-Wash gets rid of the major residue and oils. It is different than our standard Jet-Wash process where the block and mains get thoroughly washed.
Turn-Around Time After Block Is Delivered:
Turn around times are Estimates. We do our best to turn work around as quickly as possible. Thank you for you patience!!
- CSS ONLY 1-4 weeks
- CSS + finish machine work 3-6 weeks
When sending your block, it is assumed that you are sending a good buildable core which has been inspected. Inspecting cylinder for cracks, external damage, bearing surfaces and that the correct matching main caps/bedplate are with block. If you are unable to do these inspections, please contact us for a quote to inspect your block before any work is performed. CSS will not be responsible and you will be charged for work performed on a block if you opt not to have block inspected and it is determined after services are performed, that block is not buildable.
Strip down the block completely. We only need the mains if you are having us do the finish machine work (i.e. honing cylinders). This will also keep the weight down for shipping. Home Depot, Lowes or U-Haul sell boxes. Use a box size which allows space for hard exterior foam around block. Make sure it is a double wall box. Thick hard exterior insulation from Home Depot or Lowes works the best to line all walls and brace block in place so it does not move around.
***DO NOT USE SPRAY FOAM UNLESS YOU HAVE HEAT RESISTANT FOIL TO COVER BLOCK**** Spray foam gets hot when it is hardening and will melt through garbage bags.
***DO NOT USE PACKING PEANUTS***
***DO NOT USE ONLY BUBBLE WRAP BECAUSE THE WEIGHT OF THE BLOCK WILL POP BUBBLES LEAVING IT UNPROTECTED***
Make sure the motor is not free to slam around. Tape box securely making sure the bottom has lots of extra tape. If you can't comfortably drop the box from your waist it probably isn't packed well enough.
Pictures to help guide you with properly boxing your block are available if you email ( sales@revlinekc.com ). DO NOT USE an @icloud, @me or any other app email which can not accept large pictures because it will just get kicked back.
IMPORTANT!!!! We send all packages “NO SIGNATURE REQUIRED” unless instructed otherwise. So, it is YOUR responsibility to know your surroundings and if you need to add signature required to the return label. If you require a signature, then add that to your note in the box or make sure you send an email to sales@revlinekc.com. We absolutely will not cover any cost if package is stolen or misplaced if signature required is not requested. If you choose signature required and the package gets sent back to us, we will not absorb any of the costs involved and will add all additional fee's to your invoice.
Once your order is placed, we will email you a form to print out and include in the box with your block to be shipped in.
